Recovery and formulation of valuable compounds - Toxicity and safety evaluation

Duration months: 6-48

Objectives

  1. Optimizing the recovery of valuable compounds from selected IAS through green extraction methods and their isolation in high purity, targeting to high yielding and selectivity.
  2. Encapsulation of bioactive compounds using proteins and / or polysaccharide mixture derived from the selected IAS and other marine and/or non-marine sources as carriers, in order to increase their bioactivity and controlled release, developing stable and safe formulations.
  3. Evaluation of toxicity and safety of ingredients for food and feed.

Deliverables

D4.1: Technical studies on (a) Recovery and characterization of added value compounds and (b) formulation of safe and stable ingredients for food, feed and cosmetic product application [Μ36].
